Question 1

How deep do you grind?

Accepted Answer

Standard grinds go 4–6 inches below grade — deep enough for grass and sod. Planting a tree or pouring concrete? We'll grind deeper on request.

Question 2

How much does stump grinding cost?

Accepted Answer

Our service minimum is $200, and pricing averages $6 per inch of grinding diameter, measured from root flare to root flare at the widest part of the stump. Stump size, how long ago the tree was cut, the tree type, and access to the stump can all move the price up or down — text a photo to (615) 212-9662 for a fast, exact quote.

Question 3

What do you do with the resulting mulch and debris?

Accepted Answer

For our most basic package — grind and go — the debris is left on site and raked into a mound to cover the resulting hole. We also offer full cleanups for an additional price.

Question 4

Do I have to get public utilities marked before work begins?

Accepted Answer

No! We will call 811 and ensure all public utilities are properly marked before we begin.

Question 5

Do I need to be onsite for the work to be completed?

Accepted Answer

No! If you are not onsite, we will always let you know when we arrive and when we leave.

Question 6

Will the stump grow back?

Accepted Answer

A stump ground 4–6 inches below grade will not grow back. Some species can send up shoots from leftover roots for a season; mowing them off or a spot treatment stops them for good.

Question 7

What happens if the tree grows back or I find an area you missed?

Accepted Answer

We guarantee all of our work. If you find something connected to the original work we did, we will come back and fix it free of charge.

Question 8

Do you offer emergency or same-day service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Storm-damaged trees and hazardous stumps get priority response, and same-day service is often available for standard grinds — call (615) 212-9662 and we'll tell you honestly what the schedule looks like.
